Well, its true >____>
But still, theres a vocalist, guitars, bass and drums...the songs wont be majorly different. How much different can bands try to be? Unless they start rapping in their songs 0_0 |

Do remember not all music is supposed to have non stop shredding. The reason I loved Malice Mizer music was because they used different instruments. Which went with their looks. They were dressed as some sort of classy, victorian people. In victorian times, they played the violin, cello and different instruments. So, I disagree with that fact that Mana created bad music. It suited their look, and the music was well composed for it's style. Again, like I said before. There is ALOT more to music than sweeps. If that's all I liked in music, I'd be listening to Dragonforce. I have no doubt, that no band out there now, can create the ballads like X Japan. None. For example, X-Japan's the Art of Life. If you listen to that, you know where Yoshiki hits the keyboard? Most people think that it's a bad piece of composing there. But, within' the style and the song, he's got the meaning and the feeling spot on. No one. Can ever compare to X-Japan in my eyes. X-Japan is on a different level. Here's something for you, if you enjoy shredding alot, check out Galneryus. Now, THERES a band that makes shredding an art. @Claire: Ofcourse we cannot expect all bands to sound different. But that doesn't mean we have to like them either. And that's the thing, when you listen to SCREW, it's the exact same as the GazettE. Think of it this way. You have 2 dolls. They look exactly the same. One is called Anna, the other is called Rachel. Anna was made first, so people say "Rachel looks just like Anna", it's not "idolising" The GazettE, it's just pointing out that Screw could not be unique, and thus had to follow the exact sound of another band to become famous. |

X Japan was a revolution for the music of Japan. It brought the ideas of KISS and other metal bands to the land of the Rising Sun. And, I'd like to concur with your views on Malice Mizer. They were going for Gothic, not metal. As seen in Beast of Blood, and Ma Cherie. Thank you for mentioning Galneryus too, Salvanas. The color of the sala flower reveals the truth that is... To flourish is to fall. The proud do not endure.

I've been wanting to discuss this for so long, but I was afraid if I said anything bad about VK on here, I would be swamped by fangirls. |

okay, so MM may've used different instruments. but it is SO repetitive. the non-Mana-composed MM songs sound so much better than the Mana composed ones. cello - Apocalyptica. they're not boring like MM of that Kanon Wakeshittedpants lady. xD yeah, i never said sweeping is everything. and i can totally disagree with your point saying no one can make ballads like X Japan. look up Sonata Arctica. they're practically X Japan, only scary looking metal dudes. and Salvanas, why would you be scared of getting swamped by fangirls? xDDD for saying what? i'm off to work =) be back later. keep discussing guys ^^b |

I was a fan of 90's rock. After that, I've lost all hope for new rock from most Western groups. Chtonic is a personal favorite when it comes to metal. The color of the sala flower reveals the truth that is... To flourish is to fall. The proud do not endure.

Baahahaha!!! I just snorted coffee up my nose! I had this image of an anime girl with hearts in her eyes and a skimpy school uniform beating you over the head with a blunt object and a maniacal grin on her face. But yeah, people like that scare me. If you're going to like a band, at least be able to be rational about it and be able to defend your choice instead of just screaming at people. Thank you Salvanas for that wonderful example of why NOT to do crack.

The cruel beauty of nature, and everlasting beauty of monotony. ~Benjamin Britten" Owns: Yorke (Kavki Boiz), Itsuki and Iru (Bergerac), Reina and Ruka (Hime Ichigo) We can't all be sane. ^_^

BAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHHAHA nice scenario there, mate xD i totally agree. i think for the most part, its the rabid fangirls that ruin the music. its like. i wont even give a band a go if they have crazy rabid fangirls. GazE was an exception cos i didn't hear from them from another fangirl xD |
