Racism against Japanese Music

My brother and mom hate it when we (me and my sister) listen to Japanese music or even watch anime :/ my dad said that theres prolly some jap living high off my money for all the anime i bought My brother how ever always made fun of the music untill i forced him to listen to the music and watch the anime.. now he likes anime :/ he has wont admit it to my mom tho

It's the same problem here e_e .. Some time ago, I listened to a german band. Not accepted. Well, that's the band my friend also listened/listens to.

Then I heard about japanese music (visual kei & j-rock) that she didn't like and told me I just dissed TH (the german band) and that my music definately sucks. She doesn't even want to try t listen to it.

ALSO everyone keeps going on calling it that "chinese music" or that "ching-chong music". It disturbs me. They say "they all look the same" but wtf? That's like saying all Swedes, Norwegians and Finnish people look the same. NO WAY!

THey say it sucks and that it's "a fuking 'ulululu' language"... Japanese is school, japanese people are cool and they ROCK.

TOOL is a legendary band. who uses no standard outline with music. they've used fibonnacci sequence in one of their songs, i think lateralus.

I guess that's because there's a racism in general against japan,at least around here.People oftem making fun of japanese just because they have culture and language people can't understand here,and they are always "imitating" japanese and they refer to them "japa" or stuff like that.It's annoying,but what can we do?People are always into xenophobia,they will always reject everything that is different of them.

i get that all the time around here....only a handful of people in this town know that the stuff i listen to is what they'd actually hear in a club (the others assume they'd hear rap and other american music worldwide....only a handful of american artists are listened to in other countries though)

I'm from sweden and when my friend, he's listening to heavy metal and stuff, found out that I was listening to j-rock he said that all japanese guys looked like girls and than he asked if i thought they were handsome -_-'' After that he started to make fun of asian people and their music. So I forced him to listen to a song by Gackt and he said he acually liked it. >_________<
