I love pic from back then. They look so damned cool! I remember when I knew nothing about them. I saw that pic and I really thought they were women...

Kaggra as a band is pretty good. they have a clean sound, and they have alot of old Enka-esque background rythms. Honestly I am glad that they ditched the Kimono. You can probably tell that I think Vis-K is jus a gimmick to sell more albums. It works though, because the silly fan girls love it.

I'm not sure I would go as far as to say it's a gimmick. It depends on the band. Most VK bands are concerned with producing quality music while also taking into account visual aestethics. They're interested in all aspects of presentation and a lot of it has roots in traditional Japanese stage performance, such as Kabuki theater. It is true though that a lot of bands ditch the heavy visual style once they go major, but it doesn't disappear completely. Anyways, there is a purpose behind the visuals besides appealing to fangirls.
Kagrra is a solid band and I always liked the blend of rock music with traditional Japanese music. Isshi has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard and you can tell that he works hard to train his voice. He just keeps getting better. i love Isshi's voice!!
and how they are very different from the other VK bands.... they have an independant sound that they still have even tho they got rid of the Kimonos.... zakuro iro... toge wo sashite anata wa kieru

Hey, I"m new here (Signed up today). I just dicovered Kagrra by looking through some posts here, and I must say, they are now my 3rd favorite band (Next to Megadeth and Metallica of course)! Can anyone give me some history on the band? Your help is much appreciated. Arigato.
