I love Seven Nation Army. In fact, the white stripes are one of the only non-Japanese bands I listen to lately...
Usually I get stuck on a band or certain songs for maybe...two or three weeks? Then I move on. But I usually always come back to them again. I tend to listen to songs till I make myself sick of them. Until a month or two goes by anyway.
Lately it's been..

Ice Romancer- Sadie
Tsubasa- heidi
Spell Magic- Acid Black Cherry

'Nuff said.

So far the only band I've found (which I really like) is LM.C, but sometimes they use too much electric sounds and they are too popular.

Though, they have some very cool rocking songs. This is my favorite.

For me it's the question, how can I find out about japanese rock/alternative/indiependent underground bands which even are hardly known in Japan?

well, you can still find out about pretty unknown bands on the internet and stuff. They usually still have websites, or are even on myspace, etc. I really like Lmc too, they are very good. Defintely my favorite pv^

It just means promotional video. Chemical King Twoon is my recent favorite. So colorful and upbeat.

I just realised that BLOOD is not on the list on the first page D:
And although 'detroit metal city' is a fake band... i have the entire soundtrack and won't get sick of them...
YouTube - Detroit Metal City soundtrack - 8 Urami Harasade Okubekika'Should This Revenge Be Taken'
Urami Harasade Okubekika is the most recommended, i don't expect this to be featured tho ^.^'

I didn't feel like posting a new thread just for this question... - 07-14-2009, 05:43 PM

Okay, this may not be the most appropriate place to ask this question, but it seemed like the thread with it's finger most directly "on the pulse" of the WHOLE Japanese music scene.

My question is this: I have many bands I like that have gotten "Japan-Only Special Edition" albums. Is this because they are very popular there?
Or is it, as my friend claimed, just an attempt to try to cash in on the "collectibles market"?

Sorry; if this is not the appropriate outlet for this question, please direct me to a better thread. Thank you!
