I like Nakashima Mika but its already on the list so... How about Amano Tsukiko? She sang for the Fatal Frame games. Chou, Koe and Just Call My Name.

Jrock Suggestions? - 09-23-2009, 11:26 PM

Ever since I first watched Death Note, I've been listening to a lot of Maximum The Hormone because of it. They're the only Jrock band I listen to, and I like their music, but I'd like to try some other Jrock bands as well. So, could anyone please make any suggestions? Possibly similar sounding bands? Thanks in advanced.

OK, Cure Rock Radio is a 24 hour broadcast of J-rock music, but they have a couple of shows(Mae is actually not there anymore, because she was offered a record deal in Japan, so I don't know about the accuracy of the schedule anymore, but they DO still have the talk show on Tuesday's). Here's a link to the schedule, and obviously, you have to click on "Listen Live":

CureUSA - PURE J-ROCK

And then there's Tainted Reality. I don't know if they're 24 hours as well, because I only listen to the show they give at 8:00 on Thursdays and Incognito on Saturdays(Incognito is about recent and not well known bands). Here's a schedule for TRR:

Tainted Reality

Anyway, I don't know if you'll like any of these. but I will suggest the GazettE, DELUHI, Matenrou Opera, exist+trace, Dir en Grey, DIO-distraught overlord, UnsraW, Acid Black Cherry, Heavensdust, AND(that's the name of the band), D'espairsray, and there's a Power Metal band from Osaka called Galneryus that sings mostly in English

If you like any of these, a few of them have music available at the US iTunes store. Also, if you like any of the stuff you hear on Cure Rock Radio, one of the DJs(Shion)has a poll at the forum of what band most people want to see on this side of the planet; you can pick two, and he has another thread where you write your top 5 favorite bands for the same purpose. He intends to send this information to the bands' management, and the bands themselves may see this, so check it out if you're interested:

Thanks both of you

I already listened to a couple of songs that sounded amazing

I'll get around to listening some more and posting back, but I'm going to be pretty busy tomorrow so it probably won't be until later on in the day. And as for now, I got to get some sleep. Goodnight!
