while he first two are pretty interesting films, they don't really show what parkour is. district b13 is great . i would recommend a dvd called "parkour journeys" purely for the interview with daniel ilabaca (my role model). he really shows he essence of parkour in his words as well as his movements, it also shows what a model traceur should be like. well worth it |

the best place to learn is on the street. for parkour, a gym is useless. yes you can do good stuff without getting hurt, but the mats, boxes and all other equipment feel nothing like an urban environment does. your best bet to learn would be to find a parkour team near you and train with hem, take it slowly and you should be fine

In my town is openin some extreme center but we already have a place to train parkour. I hope I'll start in the summer with it.
Today we jumped in school over some thingy and I did it bad so I am a lil bit afraid of how it'll go to meh but it's all about practice, you know.. |

Question: How do you begin practicing this art?
In more detail... What excercises do you consider a starting point in introduction to Parkour? As noted previously, it is fairly dangerous to those who are inexperienced (and even sometimes to those who are), so how would someone new get involved? Practicing in your backyard? Or more of a case in which it is recommended that you learn from someone else? Of course, there can be many ways to do one thing... Parkour is a good example of this. However, I'd like to know the most common way a new person would start getting into Parkour, whether it be by self-teachings or by lessons and teachers. |
