I'm about to test for my black belt and instructor's certificate in Hap-Kido, a korean martial art. Soon I'll be starting the Isreali martial art called Krav Maga. It should be interesting, it was not adapted from other matial arts, but designed by doctors, physiologists, and kineseologists based only on how the body moves and it's strengths and weaknesses. I've also studied Karate and Judo. eventually I hope to compete in MMA.

I think it counts because it started as a way of war for thailand, there is story of thai fighttter against all of the Burmese fighters... Anyway is was a way of fighting and still is...there's like a big difference between country thai boxing and main stream thai boxing, there's freakin' religious movements to some of the thai boxing...has anyone seen a burmese boxing match...I want to see one...

I was going to do karv maga, but I didn't want to, for some reason isreal's krav maga sounds like it came from America and was made for the sand...lol...

THat does sound interesting! would you say it is more internal or external as a martial art?

it's similar to other martial arts with both striking and submition. it's more of a different way of thinking about combat. instead of thinking in terms of particular strikes, throws, and sweeps, it's broken down by distance and direction.
