Kenbo or kendo? - 08-06-2007, 11:32 PM

wait, stick match is Kendo...hmm...
I think I could give that a try, but as of now I'll pass. Judo is my calling.

I'm starting Wing Chun 3 days a week as of tomorrow, and I'm considering taking up Muay Thai after a little while at the same place.

The Academy I joined doesn't teach any Japanese martial arts, but there's a school of Aikido near my house that's like $45/month. I might consider it if i had more money, haha, the school I just joined is expensive (for a student with a typical low-paying retail job, anyways)

I go to kendo, fifth kyu at the moment, been training for a year, I believe. I find it a very stimulating sport, that is both fun and gives you the exercise you need. It maybe isn't a self defense sport, but it's not supposed to be either. It's way more fun with people you know, since then you know how hard you can hit the other, and easily fall in step with them. I dunno what to say. x__x;;

My dojo has kendo, iaido and jodo, all three arts where you use a sword (or in jodo's case, a stick). It isn't very expensive, but the bogu can get way over your budget, a good one going at about 500+ dollars. But you can get a cheaper one too, of course.

Hopefully some of you know monkey style, yes? Please tell me I'm not alone.. >.>

I have a friend who's just crazy flexible, and made his own style. It's kinda, eh.. It's weird. O.O He just crouch walks around a lot, leaps, and wraps his whole body around you like a constrictor. xD

But, I'm not the only one who knows monkey style, right? Right?! O_O

Oh, does anyone know how to use the tri-nunchaku?
