Woah this thread is old.

I'm still doing Muay Thai in Thailand full time. Anyone want to know anything about doing it yourself then PM me. I'm a goldmine of information for training in Thailand.

There are 14 years that I train "Gracies brazilian jyûjutsu", but I'd like to practice authentic japanese Aikido.

I studied Goju Ryu Karate for a few years when I was younger and now I wish to study Kendo or perhaps Fencing. I am still gathering information on both arts before making a decision. Anybody else study either art and have an informed opinion?

Thanks

Been doing Jiujutsu (the real one, none of that MMA crap) and Muay Thai for as long as I can remember. But nobody in Japan knows what the freak Jiujutsu is! Come on!! >

"Traditional"? All those styles are traditional styles.

I self-practice swordsmanship. I want to learn Kendou but there aren't any places around here that offer courses on it... and even if they did, they're probably all bullshit classes. I have a 44" shinai that I practice with. I'd say I'm pretty good... swordplay is 90% focus and reflexes, so the other 10% is the wisdom to know how to counter an attack.

I like to watch BJJ but Fedor put sambo on the map. I did judo for 4 years and it was great fun. However, like a Polish author (Marcin Bruczkowski) stated, judo and karate are not nearly as popular in Japan as people think. I had to agree with him here. They may have had Pride and now Dream but the UFC has really surpassed those.
