Tokyo Game Show 2009 - 07-17-2008, 05:52 PM

hey guys.

We are 4.473 registred users (only 1.019 active users) in our web in Spain.

We are an Association of Arcade Spain and we are thinking goes to Tokyo Game Show 2009.

It's a expensive travel for us. What do you recomended or suggest? Can you help us?

Thanks.

TGS '09? That's over a year away from now. Are you sure you don't mean 08?

it will be in 2009 or 2010. It's an expensive travel for us.

From Spain to Japan: 2400 Euros (10 days and one person).

Some cheap travel by groups?

There is also Leipzig Game Convention, if you only want to go for the games. Going to the far east just for a convention isn't really smart especially if you can even stream it in your own home .

Every major game convention appeals most to it's region's "traditional" genre of game.

E3, is now the west. They specialize in big announcements for the west regarding games, and releases typically involving shooters and as of late "family" gaming.

Leipzig is the European convention. Generally there's a range of games debuting here. I'd actually say it has the widest range of coverage, but form what I've noticed isn't so much centered around new announcements, but showcasing things we already knew about and offering more depth.

Tokyo Game Show is where the RPGs and Fantasy games are. This is the one where all the major Asian Developers (Nintendo, Sony, Square, etc) show off their games. This is the show to go to/pay attention to if you're after games like Final Fantasy XIII, Star Ocean 4, White Knight Story, etc.

At least from what I've noticed.

Didn't Nintendo not participate at the last 2 Tokyo Game Shows?

Yea, Gaming companies have been expanding into Europe a lot more recently than in past years.
