You wont be able to read it, but unless the hard drives have "special" connections there shouldnt be a problem switching up for a higher reading speed.

I know for a fact that you can not swap out a 360 hard drive with a ps3 hard drive even if you take them apart.
You have two options: 1.You can buy a new SATA 2.5inch hard drive and swap out the old.. Video: YouTube - PlayStation 3 Hard Drive Upgrade (HOWTO) 2.You can buy a huge 3.5inch 400 gig SATA harddrive and use it as an external... Video: YouTube - Replace the HDD of PS3 60GB(2.5inch) to 400GB(3.5inch) Note: Make sure they' re SATA 3.0... |

U can also use a regular USB external hard drive, you can use it to store all your movies, music, saved games however you can not play the games installed from the Blu-Ray discs off the USB because of bandwith limitations...
I have a 500 gig external at the moment im gonna get a 1TB internal for the PS3... |

If you we' re to put a 360 HDD into a PS3, your ps3 will lag slower than you' re grandma because 360' s don' t install games on the HDD they play them directly off the disk and requires minimal bandwith but higher loading times, plus you' d have a crap ton of wires sticking out of your console, u don' t want that believe me... |
