I have Luminous Arc 2 for the DS, and it was interesting when I played it. The two-screen portrait when the engagement system is used was impressive.
What I didn't like was the lack of combat when the opposing army's turn comes. Really removes the point of choosing which direction one of your characters faces when the nearby enemy unit moves to the weak side and hits hard anyways. The other feature I didn't particularly like was the friendly damage. The main character's brother is a powerful ranged melee spear wielder, but you can't have friendly units in his line of attack or they get hit as hard as the enemy does. The voiceover work is excellent, a welcome high point in a portable game. Unfortunately for you, she is not here. "Ride for ruin, and the world ended!" |
