They seriously overdid it... just masses and masses of blood, gore and guts. It's so straightforward, it becomes boring and often predictable... in my opinion, of course. Though I did play it as a first person shooter and not a thriller title. You see Alma? You shoot Alma. She's walking upside down on the ceiling while the walls of the hallway are dripping of blood and you are not able to shoot her? Just get angry and do what the level designers intended you to do - run and hide. Scary? Not quite. Annoying? Certainly.

God of War II for PS2 was a recent gift. There's a hell level in the beginning that is pretty damn scary...

I heard F.E.A.R. was quite the scary game. And that came from a guy that plays in matches on a cal-m team for CS:S and generally isn't afraid of anything. Well, I guess you'd have to know him...but trust me, it was unexpected.

Its the kind of game that messes with your head. Like, you'll be walking down a hall and all the sudden the lights will flicker and a guy that is in an active camoflage suit will come out of no where and hit you(even in slow-mo he is moving quick). That and the music got to me, I turned it off.

Aww, you dampened the experience by turning off the BGM. D: Well, I can say I hate being stressed out about games, so I understand.

Theres plenty of hentai games that freak me out, also that Sonic game where "he tried to get his furry little leg over a human girl, who was probably underage.."

I'm sorry for all the bad stuff I said and all the feelings I hurt.. Please forgive me

Something that freaked me out is when the radio would make weird noises in the alley in Silent Hill. I think thats the only thing that ever scared me. I'm not sure, though.

There is a game called Eternal Darkness on the Gamecube. Brilliant game that got rave reviews but slipped under the radar of most gamers.

The gameplay is a bit dated now but the story is freaky.

However the part of the game which freaks me out is the unique way in which the game makes you insane. You have a sanity meter which when almost empty, things start happening to your gameplay experience. At first it will be something simply like a fly walking across the TV. It looks real and the first time I experienced it I swatted at the fly but it wouldn't fly away. It took me a while to realise that I was imagining things. Other effects include when going to save your game... the game will act as if it deleted it instead and will return you to the title screen momentarily. I was almost crying considering the progress I made when I first experienced this but soon enough was returned to the game.
