Well, since Japanese Pokemon cards are in Japanese, it may be difficult to have a proper game considering the language barrier.

I can speak in Japanese, I study Japanese culture and language, actually i have only 4 kyu, it's still 3 levels left to native, but it's my first year of learning so I look forward :P and BTW, all tournament legal (i mean format, like DP-on, Ex-on) Japanese card are the same as english version, so it will be no problem with understanding the cards.

Well I'll be in Tokyo next year as well, from July untill the 22nd of August.
Maybe we could play some cards then?
For us to play Japanese players we'd need a Japanese deck though.
They have different rules than we have with european or american cards.

indeed, what u write is true, but it's not difficult to play with japanese card deck if u know well all card in card game, i'm not counting cards from only japanese sets which is always one set ahead for english sets, but still in the end there are lot off blogs with translated cards or even network translaters which allow to translate card to any possible language.
So, the final answer is, nope, Japanese language decks are not very difficult to face it in match, even if u do not know Japanese language well.

sry but i think that your reply is completely useless...i do not ask for opinions about card game, I ask for infos about PTCG players in Tokyo.
BTW, as I know, card games are very popular in Japan (most of them was created there, so it obvious I guess)
