I was wondering: are japanese PC games such as visual novels compatible with the western version of Windows? Also, when it says that the games are for Windows XP and Vista can they be played with Windows 7?

Erm, visual novel games? I had Higurashi and there are plenty of other fan-translated ones.

Actually I'm talking about the original japanese games, not the translated or downloadable ones. By original I mean originally sold in Japan...

There are a lot of people who are using XP excluding the latest person who does FPS because the XP mode(XP emulate) of Vista and 7 is not perfect.
