What is this Nibelheim? You are talking about? I never heard of this. Yea, Abyssion is really fun to fight in Shadow's Cave. He can be tuff and I love how the battle takes so long. It is more fun that way.

Did you ever beat the giant skeleton monster? There is 3 fights to him and I think Lloyd gets a special weapon called the Kusunagi Blade when you beat it.

Is there even more to do in Tales Abyss?

Gah, I'm an idiot. It's Niflheim, not Nibelheim. I got it mixed up with Final Fantasy VII ^_^;. Anyways, Niflheim is an optional level you can play after a certain point late in the game. You access it by examining this funky looking book you find in the Sybak library (you need to do some other things before it appears).

Beating Niflheim is sooo hard, which is why I gave up. In this world, there are multiple levels which are indicated by the color of the floor. On each level you may be required to complete some kind of task in order for a portal to appear and allow you to move to the next level.

Now that may not sound so bad, but there's also this thing called soulfire. It represents your life. This soulfire will steadily decrease if you walk around
and fight enemies for a long time. Shooting your Sorcerer's Ring will also
take away Soulfire. To recover soulfire, you have to light up these
candlesticks that look like pots with your Sorcerer's Ring or fight enemies
in under 20 seconds. However, if you examine certain candlesticks, they might have some extra, negative, effects, like lowering your soulfire faster, for instance.

Each floor can have certain effects on the character as well. Oh, and did I mention that there are 15 levels? ^_^;;; And on the 10th floor, you fight a boss. Then on the 15th, you fight another boss. The boss at the 15th level is basically the same as Abyssion... Or so I'm told, never reached that point.

i know that if you can defeat Abyssion, Niflheim's boss battles aren't that hard, what's hard is that it's sooo long and really hard to get to the where the bosses are, especially there aren't ANY save points or anything.

You mean Sword Dancer, right? Yes, I beat him, the Kusanagi Blade and EXP were worth it. ^_^

There is at least as much if not more to do in Abyss than in Symphonia ^_^

Oh yes, I did do the book. I got confused by the name. Not only is there 15 levels and no saves, but you need 1000 SoulFire points before you get to the last floor or you lose.

The last boss will be a easy if you beat Abyssion and got all the Devil Arms...wait, you may not be able to use the devil arms. I don't remember...When you beat it, you have the option to destroy the book or leave it alone so you can go back later and do training by fighting the enemies. But it's best to destroy it and be done with it.

Yes, I remember there was one that was really hard to beat. My fighters did little damage to it. I think only Holy moves/ ligth magic worked on it. I remember it had like 4 arms and 4 swords.

My favorite team? It was Lloyd, Raine, Genis, and Kratos (very unoriginal, I know). How about you?

And as for cosplay ^_^, my sister and I cosplayed as Genis and Raine for 2005:

Cosplay.com - Raine and Genis - Standing under a tree together (Little sister is on the right)
Cosplay.com - Raine and Genis - Genis cooking, Raine watching (One of my favorite pictures ^_^; )

And then we cosplayed as Kratos and Yuan for 2006:

Cosplay.com - Yuan & Kratos (Again, little sister is on the right)

Very nice cosplay Crimson-san! Good job. You both look good As for my favorite team it would have to be:

Lloyd, Raine, Genis and Presea ( for a balance of magic and offense)

but my favorite team ever is: Lloyd, Regal, Presea, and Sheena. This team will take out the enemy so fast and they'll have no clue what hit them. You should try that combination.

As for Niflheim, you have to beat that thing. It is not so bad, you just need patience, and I think that you should destroy the book when you beat it, it is better that way!

I will. I plan on playing TOS again and doing everything, including Niflheim. But right now I want to finish Tales of the Abyss ^_^

Yeah, I hear you. What RPGs have you played for PS1 if any? You ever play games like Xenogears, Legend of Dragoon, or Chrono Cross? All 3 are by SquareEnix. But it was Squaresoft back then. I liked that name better

I didn't really like Legend of Dragoon that much, I thought the first Grandia was quite good though.
