I have to say I don't agree. It depends on the parent, (oops normally there are two I forgot) that what game do they let the children play. I just loved watching Alien and such when I was 8 and I was afraid to go to the bathroom alone. XD
Same with the games. Some enjoy fear. Playing Silent Hill 4 and the like. Others are neutrons.

You just contradicted yourself. "It depends on the parent and what game they let their children play". That statement itself shows that Parents are responsible for their kids more than anything.

I would think that watching TV has far more effect than playing computer games. When I was a kid watching the wrestling or Bruce Lee would have more impact then playing erm... Pac man. (God that gives my age away)

Games are an easy target, a kid goes wild with a gun but the American government don't want to do anything about tightening up gun controls, they watch loads of violent movies, but hey gotta leave Hollywood alone, so what about blaming the parents? Come on, why shouldn't they have guns lying around the house it's a free country and besides guns are good. No the problem is that their kid listened to heavy metal music and played violent games. Obviously.
