i think that video games do have a factor in making things real and unreal...so...yeah even if its up to the parents I blame evryone, the people who make the games, the people who let their kids play it, and the law for allowing it...

Here's a film review I found on the web...

Quote:
This movie is one that deeply invades the ability of a child to separate fantasy from reality; to grasp consequences of behavior.
Quote:
The movie was saturated minute by minute with such influences as
- possession of psychic powers to control others and to kill
- anger with immense power and presence
- lust for power, control, and independence
Anyway that's what they said about 'Pokemon: The Movie - Mewtwo Strikes Back'... you should see what they wrote about Sin City.

Games are an easy target, a kid goes wild with a gun but the American government don't want to do anything about tightening up gun controls, they watch loads of violent movies, but hey gotta leave Hollywood alone, so what about blaming the parents? Come on, why shouldn't they have guns lying around the house it's a free country and besides guns are good. No the problem is that their kid listened to heavy metal music and played violent games. Obviously.
I couldn't agree more. Oh and I know what documentary movie you're talking about, did the whole Manson thing go any further?

everything is relative and contradictory ~

I'm glad you do, I've no idea, my memory isn't what it used to be.

Oh just found this on the web...

Quote:
After the Columbine killings, Manson was blamed for the killings (although it was later found the kids who did the shooting hated Manson and his music),
No surprises there then.

Nice bump.

*Brandishes cricket bat*

But, seriously, it shouldn't be argued as if kids aren't intelligent enough to read information about the games they play before they purchase them.
Violent games attract those who want to play violent games. The desire for violence is already there to a certain extent to begin with.

In the case that you accidentally buy the wrong game, the more logical conclusion would be that you're incredibly irresponsible or an idiot.

... or both.

I think it just depends on the kid playing the video games...
Angry and depressed kids probably shouldn't be given violent video games.
Although I think most kids realize it's just a video game, sometimes we can do crazy things that have inspired us that aren't exactly dangerous, but mostly just really stupid : D

Personally I don't think violent media causes people to be violent. It might help them along the way, but they have to have violent intent already. Media cannot solely be blamed for something that is the responsibility of the perpertraitor of the crime and/or persons who commited violent acts.

True, I think stress is a big provider of violent intentions. Also, people who are anti-social or feeling out-of-place that are angry about it. : /

I've always been especially nice to the ones who are always being picked on or avoided at school, for the hope I might be spared whenever they snap and bring a gun to school. : /

I have a soft spot for kids like that, probably because from kindergarden to fifth grade I was really wierd. (as I've been told)
