I mean three tracks I have composed for games. One on the C-64 and two on the Amiga are listed on that site.

Used to work for CRL and also Epyx and Broderbund in the late 80's
My best friend at CRL (Ian) made the game Blade Runner for the C-64 when we were just out of school.

Back in the days, we used to program our computers or wait for 10 mins while the tape loaded. When you turn your computer on you get a flashing cursor and thats it!!!

Many hours were spent learning pokes, peeks and assembly code just to do things as basic as reprogram the ascii set into a custom graphics set. This was before sprites.

People today do not understand the effort that has gone into OS to make computers easy too use. If you all had to invoke 20 lines of code just to make an MP3 play then computers would only be used by us OLD computer nerds for trading porn. Just imagine that you had to code a video codec to watch a film, you are talking many lines of code and a good understanding of encoding.

As always, I recommend like this....

Q. I want a computer, what one should I get.
A. If you do not understand computers then get an Apple based system.
A. If you are techno-savvy and understand computers then buy a PC.

I bought a Vic-20 and encouraged a few of my friends to push for this at christmas. We started coding for each other, taking cassette tapes around friends places and loading up our latest demo.
We all went onto the C-64 when it came out and produced some code that was seen in magazines.
Due to putting out code in the magazines two of us were offered a job at a games company.
I was 14 and my friend was 15. We were offered work coding and paid through some offshore thing. I can remember coding for 18 hours solid while drinking lots of coffee and getting hallucitations of machine code popping up in my vision all over the place. I remember turning to get a cake from the trolly and me and my mate Peter doing the same thing at the same time, we grabbed the same cake and it must of taken us about 2 mins to realise what was happening.
We eneded up choosing different cakes after lots of staring and thinking. I fell asleep with a good chocolate smile ontop of my C-64, When I woke up and looked at the screen I must have done about 350,000 random keystrokes with my face.
