Hello!

My name is Airiel.

I am a grade Eleven student, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I will be graduating next year and hope to go to Japan to teach English. I realize that this may seem like a common goal as interest in Japan increases , but I've known that I've wanted to do this since I was in the fourth grade.

I am very friendly, patient, and extremley eager to learn Japanese. My knowledge however of the Japanese language is very basic, but I am able to read Hiragana and Katakana with accuracy. I would be eternally grateful if anyone could help me to better understand the language before I continue with it in University. I am more than willing to do a Language Exchange, so if you're interested, please send me a private message, or add my messenger or AIM.

I too am in grade eleven. with only four years of experience, I too am limited. I can although tell you that my older sister has gone through collage studying the language on the side (In high school too). It was not easy, but by her words she enjoyed every moment of it. I know this is not much help, but I would suggest really learning the vocabulary you do know by introducing them into every day life. This has served me will with not only Japanese, but other languages as well. if you practise everyday...(seems weird, I know) most of the vocabulary you would have "memorized" ( for tests ) will become second nature to you over time.

I would not mind having some conversations with you in the language, it might be helpful on both sides.

Haha, this is the funniest post! I'm also from Winnipeg looking to learn more Japanese. I learned basic Japanese at Vincent Massey Collegiate and some at the University of Manitoba. I was about to make a post for a language exchange also. Apparently we have a Japanese cultural centre that can help us learn Japanese. I still have to look it up. I was told they have good resources, such as children's books for beginners and people that will tutor.

Good luck with the hunt!
