I would probably want to live in Kamakura, because it is very beautiful there (it's famous for the Bronze Buddha), it is only a short commute to Tokyo and Yokohama, it's not as busy and noisy compared to other cities in Japan, and because the food there is great.

It's because I think the culture in Kyoto is still really traditional. Also you can have the feeling that it is an ancient city, because Kyoto itself is being the imperial capital for 11 centuries now. Also compared to Tokyo, Kyoto is much less crowdy.^^ You can also enjoy the huge variety of shrines, temples, palaces and gardens that the city itself has to offer. Japan Map Kyoto-City |

I think i would choose osaka because i heard there it´s really beautiful, but tokyo is rather interesting too, a big city with some cool places

Because Osaka is not a beautiful city although it is very interesting and exciting city. What differentiates Osaka from Tokyo is its culture not natural beauty. Tokyo is much more organized and cleaner as well. Somebody mentioned Kyoto and I have to say, visiting and living in Kyoto are completely different subjects. Any locals could tell you that Kyoto is hot as hell in Summer and stingy cold in Winter because it's located in a basin. So there you go, visiting is the best way to see it for yourself. I thought San Francisco was a beautiful place before moving here but I was obviously wrong about it big time... So dirty!! |
