It really depends upon your location. In the north, there is usually significant amounts of snow. As you head further south it really starts to depend on the year. Where I live is pretty much in the middle and we will get years with a lot of snow and years without any at all. (The year before last, I believe, left us with tons of snow - but last year was virtually snow free. )
Japan is a very long and thin country stretching over quite a distance. There is a lot of variety in the average temperatures, level of snow, etc. |

when it comes to snow it is better to think in terms of pacific side and sea of japan side. it snows plenty on the sea of japan side while it snows less or not at all on the pacific side. however, the length of the winter is of course different between hyogo-ken and hokkaido for instance.
as any good rule there r of course exceptions. fukuoka doesn't get too much snow even though it is on the sea of japan side, while in morioka they get snow even it being on the pacific side. 蒼天(そうてん)翔(か)ける日輪(にちりん)の 青春の覇気 美(うるわ)しく 輝く我が名ぞ 阪神タイガース ※オウ オウ オウオウ 阪神タイガース フレ フレ フレフレ |
