Short-term Internet solution? - 10-16-2008, 06:14 PM

Hi!

I live in Japan for the next 3 months. Unfortunately my apartment has no Internet connection. All the providers I checked so far want to sell me at least 12 month contracts. These are obviously of no use to me.
I have also checked HSDPA solutions for my laptop, but the providers I have checked want about JPY 10000 for the USB-HSDPA-Stick alone.

Is there any way I can get an Internet connection for the next 3 months for a reasonable price without having to go to the an Internet café?

with a 3 months visa, I don't think any providers would give you their services..

one, the setup alone , from application , surveying, then installation takes about a month. and most providers have 2 months free use ..

in your case, since your only staying for 3 months, they would not get any compensation from you

internet cafes are not that expensive anyway ...

I found Inet cafes to be a little expensive, but there are some free spots around (like Mc Donalds for example). I would try to got with that. There is also a Homepage wich lists all the Freespots, i just cant seem to find it in the moment.

Could you share a link to this internet page you speak of showing WiFi hotspots?
