I think Japan's view on sex is much more mature than that of America. They don't really think it is such a big deal, whereas Americans make such a fuss over what is simply the natural form of reproduction. That's how Japanese see it. And that's how America SHOULD see it. 猿も木から落ちる

I have never seen porn on a billboard, but yes, it is much more accessible than it is in the US.
Your question is a little vague. I think each person has their own perception, and are you talking about sex or pornography or fidelity or something else? |

Japan has long had a more mature view on sex; it is seen as something natural for everyone to do; the only taboo has come from the American occupation; and how they have conformed to western society and views in recent (recent being the last 200 years or so) years. I don't know how Japan does it's sex education, but Hentai is NOT a part of it; Hentai, Ecchi and the likes are really adult only material; and a small demographic at that. gah; MMM you got here fisrt -~Moddess ~- ▲ ▲ ▲ |

Over here, men and women find it embarrassing to be seen walking into an adult video or novelty shop while in Japan, you can see groups of men walk around in red light districts laughing, talking and having a blast as they blow their salaries away. I was really surprised when my friend took me to a popular brothel area in the Tobita-shinchi area of Osaka. There were hundreds of girls on display and the area was so packed with pedestrians that it was like Shibuya on a weekend afternoon. Guys wandering around in their work uniforms, salary men who were anxiously waiting outside for their colleagues "activity report", etc. Another thing which surprised me was the information booths at the red light districts. A place which would recommend an establishment/girl based on your budget, fetish, etc. How hilarious is that?! Damn! I could go on and on but I'll stop before I wear out my keyboard. |

I'd have said quite the opposite; it allows couples to be intimate and alone for a period of time; there's not much else they can do; its not unusual for young adults to live at home with parents until they marry; so if you're dating there really isn't much other choice; Love hotels provide a safe space and even provide condoms and the like. you can even get theme rooms
