This seems like a very good idea in this news movie, barcoding fresh fish.
「ごんあじ」で追跡システム実験 - 報道センターNBC 報道センターNBC 動画ニュース | NBC長崎放送 Please could someone tell me exactly what information is available to the consumer after scanning the code? Also if anyone can figure out the web address of the mobile site that gives out the information on the fish, that would be great! Thank you. - Roger |

i remember watching this on tv a couple weeks ago.
its basically so the customer knows the origins of the fish, ie this is from nagasaki. i'm not exactly sure what info exactly but thats the jist of it. how useful it is, i dont know, but it looks like one of those things that they can use to push the prices up. |

I'm being unable to find the web address itself. But I can read the information on the cell phone screen in the video (around 1:30 ~).
Product Name: Gon-Aji Wild / Farmed: Wild Place of Origin: Japan Nagasaki Other Info: Gotou-Nada <--name of sea. It's close to the land. Characteristics: (talks about the fish being of best quality with much fat. The same kind of fish from the outer-ocean is skinnier without much fat because they travel long distances.) |
