I believe I've elaborated enough on the nature of Sakura trees ^_^ So in order not to bore anyone to death, I'll be posting pictures only XD

P.S. These pictures aren't mine, I found them off the internet and don't claim credit for them.

Thank you! I jumped out of my chair when I saw the Sakura post.
Even better I saw the dates at which they should be around. I am greatly thankful for that since I will be going back to Japan on April 2nd. Looks like they should be around in most places still. I heard from some friends that they had already started to bloom so I was quite upset. But it did start getting colder again thank goodness. I am really looking forward to drinking under them and meeting some new people. Now thanks to this post I am looking forward to this tea too.

Thumbs up Great ! - 03-22-2007, 07:14 PM

Wow Nard-kun, I can't believe I am seeing this thread just now for the first time. It is the best thread you have ever made. (besides the Japanese Toys, and Samurai History threads) Excellent work! It was very cool of you to make it for the old members. haha!

I don't know if anyone has posted this, but do you guyz know the Legend of Sakyra Trees? And why their flowers and petals are a pinkish colour ??

Well if you don't know, legend has it that ancient Japanese warriors were buried at the foot of Cherry blossom trees because of their beauty and purity. I also think that they are a symbol of rebirth. Or something similar to that.

Anyways, the warriors were buried under the trees, and it is said that the warrior's blood seeped into the tree's roots. The tree absorbed the red blood, and mixed with the petals. The cherry blossoms then turned from a beautiful pure white colour, to a nice shade of pink. That is a legend. It's a good one!!
