Sophia vs. Temple

Hi everyone,

I tried searching for this in advance and couldn't find anything, so my apologies if someone's already asked this or if this is in the wrong section.

I'm currently a sophomore at university in the U.S. and I'm looking into possibly transferring or just studying abroad to these two schools. I'm planning on double majoring in English and Japanese. So I have a few questions:

1. Sophia has a program for English students, right? Not all of the curriculum is in Japanese, or am I mistaken?

2. Which is generally considered a better university? I don't really care about prestige, but I'm just wondering which school will give a better education.

3. Obviously these schools are going to be the best option for learning/becoming fluent in Japanese, however, does anyone know how they stack up in other areas, particularly English (literature)?

Correct.

A tricky question. Should your comparison be between:
1. Sophia vs. Temple or
2. Sophia vs. Temple Japan Campus?

Sophia, in my opinion, is far better than Temple Japan Campus. TJC doesn't even have a campus in the American sense of the word. It just has two separate buildings in one neighborhood in the middle of Tokyo.

But it's hard to compare Sophia with Temple (in Philly) as they are in different countries. See what I'm trying to get at?

Sophia. No question about it. Temple Japan doesn't even offer a BA in English, according to its website.
