Um, have you even BEEN to Japan? I am 6foot tall and there are lots of Japanese people taller than me!!! They certainly are not the 'dwarf-sized' population that rumours would have you believe... True, the average height probably IS an inch or 2 shorter than for European countries, but they certainly wouldn't think you are a giant to them unless you are 10 foot tall lol

My buds went to Japan last year and had a great time. They had one (and only one) incident where they were eating and two old ladies sat and complained about gaijin the entire time they were eating, little realising that they understood every word. At the end of their meal they got up, walked over, bowed and apologised (in Japanese) then left.

Now to put this in context I've been to many countries around the world where locals have bitched about foreigners- everywhere does this so the Japanese aren’t any different.

I think that every Japanese person’s worse nightmare is a loud American coming into their building ^_-
