Cherry Blossom Photos From This Weekend - 03-31-2007, 05:32 PM

This weekend is the first full bloom weekend of 2007 cherry blossom season. Even though it was slightly rainy Saturday morning in Tokyo, there were a lot of peope out in the parks today. Here are a few pictures from Saturday for those of you who can't be in Japan:

Sorry the pictures are dark, the skies were not too bright because of the weather problems! The rest of the pictures are in my 2007 Japanese Cherry Blossom gallery.

Hopefully, someone else can post better pictures!

that i'm not quite sure of...i've seen it mentioned in several anime, most notably, Sailor Moon. family and friends go to a park or grove where cherry trees of the Sakura variety are flowering. then they watch the blossoms fall, and eat lunch under the trees, or something like that...from what i hear, it's celebrated all over japan

I've actually made a similar thread to this a while back. There're more details here, so hopefully this helps ^_^

P.S. Sweet pics there, fotjp-san
