Every country, society, etc has bad people. Period. That´s something we can´t run away from. It´s our world. Sadly, it´s like that.

I am perfectly aware of that.

However, if that´s not the reason you want to "slam" me for.. Then disregard what i said. So what is the reason then?

The reason i asked this question, was because i didn´t know if they accepted foreigners or not. If you think of me as some sort of an ignorant person, or anything similar for asking that question, then i don´t know what to say... That´s what forums like these are here for. To ask questions and get answers.

Keep in mind, i´m not acusing anyone of anything.

Regarding the whole visiting of japan.

No i haven´t. Next year i will definitly pay a visit to it.

I love japan. The emotional value of that country to me is nearly endless. I love everything about it. I hate my own country´s culture to be honest.

I love their food. Their culture. The things they have accomplished. Their People. ( even though i never went there. I have several friends who live there. ) Technological marvels. Anime, Manga. You name it.

Call it lack of patriotism. I don´t care. It doesn´t matter where we´re born at. We must all follow our hearts, and find our place in this world =) For me. Japan is more than the "Wow. amazing country! I have to go there someday"

For me, it´s paradise. It is a personal choice. If you don´t agree with me, that´s fine. We are all entitled to our own choices =)

But that´s just the way I am. I love it. I love everything about it.
You didn't say anything wrong. I'm sure your questions were honest. Without being able to read the intentions, words sometimes come out harsh.

What I'm trying to say is: You're not the only one who has joined this forum with the same questions and I have the feeling some of the old-timers here had a "Oh no, not again!" moment. It is nothing personal and I know most people here are quite cool most of the time, but when a subject comes up like "wanting to move to Japan or get a job in Japan when someone doesn't really know what it entails", I think they've answered these questions quite a few times and it becomes almost annoying. I'm not trying to put words in their mouths, just trying to understand their point of view.

Am I wrong here? Probably not. They are offering very good advice even if it may sound harsh or demoralizing. I hope you understand and don't harbor any ill-will....

It would take quite a while for me to explain why I love Japan. Even thought i haven´t visited yet. So i won´t get started on the subject.

Now regarding the replies here.

I don´t want to develop/create a game. With that said, Game Designer is not the position i will be applying for. The position I´m after is an entirely different one. And yes, I am aware that one cannot simply score a job as a developer instantly.

As for me learning japanese. That will be taken care of. As soon as i start college, I´l be attending japanese classes. Even in a country as small as ours, we still have people who teach All sorts of languages here. It Works Wonders.

It´s obvious that they won´t hire a person that doesn´t speak japanese fluently.

I was simply concerned if it was impossible, or just hard to score a job there.

Even if there is only a 1% chance, i still won´t give up on it.

With that said. I thank you for all of your replies =) They sure helped alot on the matter.

Thanks.

John.

To answer your question honestly, they don't have an anti-foreigner policy and your chances of working in a Japanese game company (for anything other than translation and other obvious jobs where foreigners have an advantage) probably are 1%.

Even then, most translation work isn't done in Japan. A person doesn't need to be there to translate stuff.

You said you want to do 3D Art? Then no Japanese company will bother with you, they already have a good amount of Japanese 3D artists.
