Best small places in Japan? - 11-22-2011, 08:36 PM

Rated 1 to whatever, 1 being the highest, what are the best small places to live in Japan if you don't want the overcrowded city life? A friend of mine said Yonago City.

I hear Yamagata is quite nice, especially in the winter. I'm not sure what you mean by "small" but with a population of about 200,000 it's definitely not as crowded as places like Tokyo or Osaka.

And a few of my Japanese buddies say that when the girls speak in Yamagata dialect it sounds kinda sexy.
