I'm talking about powerful families that can influence when deciding who gets in and who doesn't. If your father had studied at any of those universities and finished his degree with honors and he wanted you in, then you'd definitely be in.

you watch too many movies.. lol... that is very very very very very rare... in fact, its actually sort of illegal and hardly ever gets done because of that!!! And usualy parents that went to a great university, the child is generally as hard working and as smart as the parents if not better (apart from George W. Bush, he's father was great, but he's a twat lol)

and even if it does happen, they still have to perform and not get chucked out, so it doesn't matter anyway, cos they work hard to stay there!

Who cares about legitimacy when there's money involved? Of course it is not politically correct to allow it to happen, but it does happen and people take advantage of it. And children don't always take after their parents, I'm living proof of that (both my dad and mom studied Science at university and the subjects they teach -they are both teachers- were my worse subjects at school), so just imagine the lack of motivation one has when they know they can befenit from their parents' wealth without putting much effort on doing anything for themselves. Corruption is everywhere, and no university is an exception.

lol, ok, if you find me one student that got into harvard, yale, prinston etc etc etc and stayed there and graduated ALL because of money without actually studying to pass the exams. I'll give you 100 euros (you're in spain right?)
and as for children not taking after their parents, you have a point, but i was talking about rich kids that go to these fancy uni's... None of them stay at uni if they haven't got the level. They might get it (i'm not arguing against taht) because they are rich, but they sure as hell don't graduate because they are rich.

As for your corruption speach, yeah corruption is everywhere, but it doesn't last long...

Pftttt, for 100 filthy euros I won't bother to look for proofs. Now for reals, are you saying that you don't believe money can buy good grades? lol Hasn't life taught you this lesson yet, hun? hahaha. I never said though that it was all that mattered.

hahahaa, in a university like harvard i am 100000000000000% sure that money doesn't buy grades... as a matter of fact, that is impossible just because they would lose their reputation if companies employed stupid people from there.... reputation is more important than money to them

anways i have so many qiestions, i'm going to be moving to japan at the end of next year. I'll still be under 18...17 to be exact are there any places there that will rent out to under 18 yo...and also whats the best area's in tokyo price wise.
If i cant get anyone to rent would it be a good idea to stay in a youth hostel? And what are the age requirements or any requirements for teaching english there?
i'll just let you answer those first before i get to more LOL

I'm guessing the rental/hosteling ideas will both be a no

You are not considered an adult here until 20... might be wrong, but that's my guess anyway

Ummm aight that makes sense... but I still think that rich guys have less trouble getting in and staying than the rest.
