I retired from the U.S. Army in 2002, ...
I was wondering if there were any U.S. Military people here on the JF? Sorry i cant say that I have had the pleasure of serving in any of the armed forces, but i have a hole family full of retired or who are still serving. I support our troops 100%

retired - if you count 24 years as a dependent being drug from one base to another.

And it was facinating for me because I always ended up at formal functions sitting with the lesser ranking pilots (aka younger!) and learning about where they came from and how they viewed Americans. Naturally, they were far more open with me (a teenager) than in conversations with their commander present. But they were also very aware that the commander's daughter was under age so I never saw many of them aside from formal occassions, unless they hppened to be at the base pool.
