G'day mate

It's great to see another maroon on the board

thanks for your message.

You will have a ball once you master Japanese.

I found the best way to learn was to "use" every single Japanese I made contact with.

Take it all seriously and it doesn't take like to pick it up.

I've been to Townsville a few times as a motel stopover only coming from Sydney.

Never really looked around..

Are their many or any Japanese working holiday makers or students in Townsville?

We have plenty in Cairns, although nowhere as many as used to be a few years back.

Plenty of Korean's now.

Maybe consider coming to reside in Cairns for a while as it may present better for you towards Japanese.

I will certainly take you out for a drink, and intro. some JP friends.

My son is half Japanese..

Definitely give me a buzz if you are up this way..

Cheers - Oz

If i'm honest I have not really looked that hard to find any students or anyone that could help me for that matter other than the class i'm joining. I think it would be so much better to have someone in the know to bounce words off of. Really get into the thick of it.
We also have alot of koreans and filipinos down this way. I have seen the odd Japanese person about but never really strolled up and asked them to teach me there language. More likely to be third generation and tell me to "bugger off mate!"
