And I'd agree to that last statement. Otaku was NEVER a positive term - just like weaboo and Japanophile never was. It's usually a term to describe people with an actual obsession concerning Japan. Be it manga, anime or jrock - generally these people get a little carried away... and they tend to get scary as hell. >_<
I thought it might be that. Funny thing is, 'Otaku', 'weaboo' and 'Japanophile' all describe me. 1. I am addicted to idols, anime etc. and am going to get one of they dakimakura pillows 2. I talk about Japan so much, I'm starting to annoy my friends and 3. I love Japan so much, even the pervertedly wrong things I think are cool.

How do you connect with Otakus?

I'm a computer programmer,
so I often participate in the seminar of computer programming.
Because many of the Japanese Geeks are also Otaku, I fulfill the purpose.
Hahahaha. Thats odd, because I'm at college just now (university next year) studying IT. What is it with us computer types? lol

What Japanese people think of "Otaku."

YouTube - Japan Interviews #8 - What is Otaku??

I'm not a cynic; I just like to play Devil's Advocate once in a while.

Cool!
Since I became a programmer immediately after graduating from junior high,
I envy the students.

When I got the money, want to be a student.
What will you want to major in?

In the anime you listed, I have never watched Higurashi and Umineko yet.
Bizarre suspense, Moe, both my favorite.
But mixing both, but I feel uncomfortable.
If you know the "Nice Boat", this is not necessary to explain why.

I'm not good at illustration.
Are you good at?

Talking xD - 10-30-2010, 07:17 PM

Oh no problem, Higurashi has strong and deadly parts n_n'..........i did not watched all umineko or play it. In Umineko's anime the beginning has many deaths but for what i have read, it seems that is more suspense or mistery.

Well i have a little gallery and i have a drawing of a neko girl xD: Arakari on deviantART

I need to improve though...

I'm not sure yet, but I like the idea of keeping computers running, or being an administrator or technician

Back on topic, I'm going to look into Ikki Tousen as well

I like to watch anime, generally because I'm amused by how they reguard Americans in most of them. We aren't all over the top blow hards, who think we know everything.

Afterall, I thought I was wrong once...but turned out I was mistaken.

It is cool that you want to be friends with foreign Otaku. I have been trying to find fellow Otaku, but unfortunately in the area I live right now there are not many.
