I can't say I'm such as that. I like anime but I dont cosplay or anything. I guess it's like with Star Trek...there's a difference between trekkie and trekker. The trekkie will cosplay and talk all things star trek even learning klingon, plus attending every convention. A trekker just likes the tv show and books.

This thread seemed to be heading toward I really like anime/manga so im an otaku and no-one around me understands me. Otaku is just a word and can be easily replaces with others. Geek Trekkie trekker Train spotter stamp collecter annorak Infact anyone anywere that has a hobby they enjoy. I would argue you could include those that follow team sports (whatever they may be), films, music and any other subject you can think of. An otaku is somone who obsesses over something (dosent neccerseraley have to be manga/anime or even japenese) dont pigeon hole yourselves. |

I must admit I don't know much about the others you've mentioned. I'm only familiar with the Ghost in the Shell series. So I won't be able to do any kind of comparison... I'm looking forward to read your answer. |

Always on the lookout for great Anime I haven't seen, got any recommendations? I also like Kinos Journey, plus I enjoyed H2O recently as well and Elfen Lied. I am hoping to visit Tokyo later this year or early next. I Japan! Best, DMgen. |
