Oh right. Thanks. I bet you look nice too. (I'm just returning the compliment. Some people can be funny about comments like that to under 16's)

What are the most common words in Japanese, that a person might have to use, and is there such thing as two different words that are the same?

(Like bee and B?)

I think the most common words you would have to use would be greetings, like 'hello' and 'goodbye', and things like 'please' and 'thank you'. Basically whatever you use most in English you'll probably be using the equiviliants in Japanese just as equally

Hello (Good Afternoon, in specific): Konnichiwa
Goodbye: Sayonara
Please: Kudasai/Onegaishimasu
Thank you: Arigato gozaimasu

There are a few homonyms too (different words that mean the same thing). Like "suki" and "tsuki" are both said the same way, but one means 'like/enjoy' and the other means 'moon'. I can't think of many others, but my Japanese is quite basic - hopefully other members can give you a more comprehensive list.

I'd recomend learning the two alphabets too, if you get a chance or feel able. In English its very hard to figure out how some of the Japanese is said, but in the Japanese alphabets the words are written as you say them, so it's easier to figure out how to pronounce each word correctly.

Yeah, try to learn hiragana and katakana is the best way to start. Of course, if you want to learn some words in japanese I recomend to you watch some Anime with audio in japanese and subtitles of your choice (probably english).
