My favorite painter is Johannes Vermeer. In fact I like all the Dutch artists of the 17th century (Dutch Golden Age).  The Girl with the Pearl Earring , J. Vermeer.  View of Delft, J. Vermeer.  The Milkmaid, J. Vermeer. Monet would be my 2nd favourite: Claude Monet  Bridge over a Pool of Water Lilies, C. Monet.  Impression, Sunrise , C. Monet.  Le Jardin De l'Artiste, C.Monet. everything is relative and contradictory ~

I would have to say, Jan Van Eyck and Andy Warhol. Jan Van Eyck because he is amazing at details. Google Image results don't do him justice since most of his paintings are only around 3-4 inches tall. Andy Warhol for his simplicity.
