I am no professional but I have bought a book about drawing mangas once. It always starts with a simple stickman. Here you have to watch out so that the proportions are correct (upper arm to underarm, arms and legs to body, head to body ...). The head should have the form of an egg which is with upside down.
Then you have to draw "pipes" around the upper arm, underarm, shinbones and shanks. And circels around the joints (knees, elbows). The body is the most difficult part at the beginning. Drawing an "underwear" (depends on the character: male means a male underwear, female a female underwear^^) and sphere above the underwear and above the sphere there is the upper part of the body. It is hard to explain for me but here is an example: http://www.f-c-a.net/pxl/babalond/nu...nime_03_02.jpg If you managed this you can put clothes to your character. I think that all is a question of practicing. The best thing is to buy a book which describes how to draw mangas (that should be better than my explaination here and you even have more pictures^^) And here is a link which handles about drawing mangas/animies too. I have not checked the page but maybe it is useful to you: Akemi's Anime World: How To Draw Anime Style Art: Bodies |

I'm not so sure I could give you actual lessons, as I don't follow any of the normal steps. I never have been able to do it that way. *shrug*
Try these tutorials: HOW TO DRAW MANGA -- MANGA UNIVERSITY (Manga U also sells How to Draw Manga books.) Online Manga University Polykarbon: Tutorials! I would get an artist's dummy if I were you. It always helps to have something to use as a reference. I tend to collect art books, just for that purpose. If you have the money, you can enroll in online manga couses. It's expensive, but you do get your supplies as well. HOW TO DRAW MANGA -- MANGA UNIVERSITY |
