Cool Katchoo's Poetic Expressions of Life - 03-07-2008, 03:46 AM

No one is righteous, no, not one,

no one understands,

no one seeks for god.

All have turned aside,

together they have become worthless,

no one does good, not even one.

Their throat is an open grave,

they use their tongues to deceive.

The venom of asps is under their lips.

Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.

Their feet are swift to shed blood,

in their paths are ruin and misery,

and the way of peace they have not known.

There is no fear of god before their eyes.

My, isn't that optimistic...

My other life - 03-07-2008, 04:07 AM

When i wake up at night

remembering my other life,

i scream.

if i could find a way don´t you believe

that i´d be there today?

but for my clever mind, to punish me,

i´m trapped inside this black design.

tho´ deep inside i hold the child i think i am

my hands were midwife to the hell i´m living in.

oh, believe me,

i´m running out of time.

Some quotes about righteousness:

"In all the work we do, our most valuable asset can be the attitude of self-examination. It is forgivable to make mistakes, but to stand fast behind a wall of self-righteousness and make the same mistake twice is not forgivable."Dale E. Turner

"The atom bomb was no ''great decision.'' It was merely another powerful weapon in the arsenal of righteousness."
Harry S Truman (33rd President of the United States)

"But the greatest menace to our civilization today is the conflict between giant organized systems of self-righteousness -- each system only too delighted to find that the other is wicked -- each only too glad that the sins give it the pretext for still deeper hatred and animosity."
Herbert Butterfield

Lily - 03-07-2008, 04:50 AM

Lily came to me without a name
and when i gave her one i lost the day
i lost the time inside. fire and play.
and when i told her i was in the horse
she laughed out loud and said of course
and i was mad but she was on the floor.
and she was like the day she took away
like two eternal lines we met one day
and for the moment it was fire and play.
and i could hear the sound of music play
and everything was going to be okay
til lily went away

now i go on but look behind
and lily´s getting awfully hard to find
now i live on with love behind
i´m not ashamed she was a love of mine

and she was like the day she took away
like two eternal lines we met one day
and for the moment it was fire and play.
and i could hear the sound of music play
and everything was going to be okay
til lily went away

now i go on but look behind
and lily´s getting awfully hard to find.
now i live on with love behind
i´m not ashamed she was a love of mine.

The way an unbiased mod would look at it, I'd say both Tenchu and Powermad147 each has a point. Still, an expression should be made in consideration of others. Why not we compromise? Since this thread is basically about poetry, do you mind if I change the title to "Katchoo's House of poetry" or "Katchoo's Poetic Life"... Something like that?

Coming back to me - 03-07-2008, 05:19 AM

Dreaming like i used to do
back when everything was new
played my songs for you all night
you never heard them sung uite right
in the middle of a thousand dreams
i saw you...
i saw you...
i saw you... coming back to me

laughing ´til my sides would ache
crying when i found the hate
all the times have ome and gone
soon i´ll be without a one
the only constant thing in me
was you...
was you...
was you... coming back to me

Interesting set of quotes: One is from the Bible. The other two are from the graphic novel series, "Strangers in Paradise" by Terry Moore.

Quote:
“None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands;
no one seeks for God.
All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
no one does good, not even one.”
“Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive.”
“The venom of asps is under their lips.”
“Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.”
“Their feet are swift to shed blood; in their paths are ruin and misery,
and the way of peace they have not known.”
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
(Romans 3:9-18)
Quote:
published in issue #8 of Strangers in Paradise
When I wake up at night
Remembering my other life,
I scream.
If I could find a way don't you believe
That I'd be there today?
But for my clever mind, to punish me,
I'm trapped inside this black design.
Tho' deep inside I hold the child I think I am,
My hands were midwife to the hell I'm living in.
Oh, believe me,
I'm running out of time.

Lily
by Katina Choovanski

Lily came to me without a name
And when I gave her one I lost the day:
I lost the time inside, fire and play.
And when I told her I was in the horse,
She laughed out loud and said, Of course!
Made me mad, but she was on the floor.
And she was like the day she took away,
Like two eternal lines we met one day,
And for the moment, it was fire and play.

And I could hear the sound of music play
And everything was going to be okay,
'til Lily went away.

Now I go on but look behind,
And Lily's getting awfully hard to find.
Now I live on with love behind;
I'm not ashamed she was a love of mine.
And she was like the day she took away,
Like two eternal lines we met one day,
and for a moment it was fire and play.

And I could hear the sound of music play
And everything was going to be okay,
'til Lily went away.

Everything was going to be okay,
'til Lily went away.
Nothing original, but very interesting.
I'm guessing you are a fan of Katina Marie Choovanski, also known as Katchoo?
