The composer is Abel Fleury, from Argentina. Composed in the early 20th century, but from the tradition of cowboys in the plains. they were pushed into the cities, played in brothels. Thier "milonga" later developed into Tango. the best recording is Roberto Lara The Guitar of the Pampas. It's grreat for people who aren't so much into stuffy, uptight european classical, because it is tinged with indigenous rythms and forms, all warm from the new world. More accessible to the ear raised on pop music.
