But when do you your own work do you like to keep it or sell it when others like it.

When you do it do you think about copryrighting them so they do not get claimed by some one else or would you if you sold them as well.

But i do not mean a manga character for people just so you know.

If you are the original artist, then copyright is always yours. Even if you sell or give away the work, no one else has the right to copy or claim the work unless you give them permission to do so.

P.S. The copyright is automatic. In most countries there is no paperwork required to claim the copyright.
