Other than that I think you should just work on getting cleaner lines. All the details in the dress are a little hard to read. Quote:
It is pretty awesome though. Only thing I'd recommend is to change up your line thickness. All your lines are pretty much the same width. I like the yotsuba one though. Yotsubato is my fav manga. |

honoraryjapanesegirl requested some stuff on hands, so here it is:
Now, I'll be the first to admit, my hands aren't that good. Hands are probably my biggest weak point. But I'll do my best to help. So, there are different ways I draw hands, and none of them are particularly right or wrong. The way I usually do it is like in the 2nd and 3rd examples. Draw simple sketchy hands, then detail them a bit. I almost ALWAYS don't detail it more than the second picture. But if you want more realistic and kinda... ugly hands.. it's simply adding details onto the existing shapes. As for the first example with the 3d objects. This is what I do when I'm REALLY stuck with a hand, and I just can't figure it out. I find it helps to break it down into shapes. Now... my advice to you, if you want to really improve your hands. Do what I did in the first example. Draw shapes. They don't even have to be hand shapes, just cubes and cylinders. Once you have that down, try to assemble them to look like a hand, LOOK AT PICTURES OF REAL HANDS!! it's reaaaaaaally important to study how the hand moves in order to draw it. check this out too: LINK I found this to be a really useful guide on how the hand works. Honestly though, there's no way for you to improve just by listening to me talk about how I do it. As much as I despise the saying, the best advice anyone can ever get is: practice, practice, practice... (god I hate those words) now, start drawing! |
