Smile Significance of Beauty - 02-26-2011, 02:18 AM

Cherry blossoms are so beautiful. From what I understand, Japan is full of cherry blossom trees. I know the culture involves them a lot. I was wondering what the significance of cherry blossoms is in Japan? It seems to be something of great meaning.

I have never heard that, what does it mean?

From what I gather, it means that something beautiful can be the product of something terrible.

Cherry blossoms are what let us know spring has come. That astonishing beauty starts from southern area of Japan since spring arrives in south earlier. And we start noticing spring has come and we celebrate that. We'll have parties under Cherry trees.

Cherry blossom is a symbol of transiency. It is beautiful because it lasts only few days.

Umm where did you hear this crap? You think war and violence is symbolically what Japan thinks about when they have ohanami each year? Another youth sadly misguided by weird anime intellect... (translated into English of course).
