I don't speak for all asians in general but love is a rather powerful word, I myself don't like to throw it around alot like it doesn't mean anything. When I try or think to myself I say the word like, it's not as powerful as the word love but it delivers the same message.
The thing is with western cultures, based from what I see in real life and TV. Is that people use the word love even if they don't mean it, especially teenagers. If you over use the word it sometimes loses it's meaning, this is why when someone tells me that they love me I don't show any reaction because it's not a big deal really. What I notice with western culters when people say love, they actually mean lust. Lust and love are two completely different things. Note: I was born and raised in Australia by immigrant parents. |
