For me as a guy I can say that I'm also not interested in japanese girls. First they attracted me cause they really are goddamn sexy but I realized that I don't want a girl that does everything I want. And also they will never tell you the truth directly in your face. If they don't like you, they still date you. I feel punked.

I understand why you are attracted optically but not why you like the personality.
Yeah, but even still then... I mean, guys are guys. Also, a relationship is a two way street, so if he tries to treat me as such, then he would never had really liked me in the first place, meaning he wouldn't have been tolerate on my ways of life. But I still would like to date a Japanese guy. If he wants to date this American girl, then he must like me for more than looks.

Wow - I can`t believe I missed that one the first time around.

Applying the experience of ONE girl to every man in Japan. Wow, what a way to stereotype.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

It would be amusing to see Zenzen's stereotype with some of my Japanese friends and see if opposites attract.

I would adore having an older version of my friend in Kyoto for a boyfriend. He's wonderful .... just half my age.

Thumbs up Great Idea In Retrospective - 11-05-2009, 07:12 PM

I am looking forward to a Japanese male to share a relationship with, though there are virtually none in my area of living. There aren't even many asian americans in Illinois. It's quite the challenge to find one- even more so to get into a dating situation with one.
But it the opportunity ever did arise for me, I would openly embrace it.

I know technically "stereotyping" is lowbrow, and I agree that it's unfair. However, stereotypes exist because enough people fit the pattern to create the stereotype in the first place. For Instance, "Dumb Jock", "Nerd", "Red Neck". While they are all "stereotypes", I doubt few of us here haven't met at least one of each in our lives.

Stereotype is very similar to "Archtype", something writers use alot for character developement, certainly Anime does it rather consistantly. The context is what kills the idea, most people apply it in a negative light, to belittle someone else. Even though there can be good "stereotypes" as well, "Role Model", "Girl Next Door", "Good Smartatin".

Hmmm....does this sound preachy? I didn't intend that.
