It's a great tool, in my opinion. I don't have to respond to certain people - but I also don't have to read anything that they say. If reading what a certain person says annoys me, or puts me out of peace of mind - or if a person is harrassing me - I'd want to use that tool. It's not about being able to handle what another person says. It's about not wanting to be annoyed. There's nothing wrong with that.

This is a forum. You're supposed to have come here to listen to and consider other peoples points of view.

Abusive people and trolls get banned. Blocking someone yourself shows you're really pretty much only interested in listening to your own words.

o_O There's nothing anyone HAS to do. A forum is supposed to be a hobby. It's supposed to be fun. The way you're describing it, it sounds almost as if it's a responsibility to read your posts. It's not. No one has to if they don't want to.

I don't always come here for fun; I don't think it's about fun. Actually, I think it is more supposed to be about learning, and most of the best conversations I've had are with people I really don't like.

The two of you clearly don't like a challenge.

Now you see, I don't know if it's all about learning for you. Learning is about facts. Facts, when learning, are supposed to be given. Facts have nothing to do with statements made specifically at people, making comments on their personality. I gave the fact that no one has a responsibility to reply. You gave your personal and degrading that the two of us "clearly don't like a challenge."

You crossed the line of learning by making that statement. You started the path to another argument - another argument that I'm definitely not in the mood for. So, Tenchu, because I don't have the responsibility to respond to you, forgive me for not responding to you from here on out.

You won't respond, but I know you'll read.

I didn't degrade you in saying you don't like a challenge, unless a challenge for you is pressing a ignore button. You're too easily offended; overly sensative.

Learning is not always about absorbing plain facts. Theorising and viewing, social interaction, these things help you progress as a character.

In the end, the best thing about discussing seemingly useless things online for me is to become preresolved. So that when difficult times come, I am not unsure of myself, and can make decisions quickly; I know where I stand.

I'm very thankful for some of the more challenging members of this forum; Shaelyn, MMM, Ronin4Hire, Ivionky, Noodle. Honestly, I'm not excessivly fond of any of them. MMM and Shaelyn are\were hard people to dislike, but they certainly challenged my views with a lethal passion.

If you remove people like this from your life, in this case, with the click of a single button, it doesn't really show much for your character, I think.

Of course, there is also the fact that I never really said anything too dramatic, anyway. It was a plain view; why has this person made a thread about liking Asian guys and fighting with her father? What, is she\he just 12?

Tenchu, this is not sarcastic at all.

I love the way you think.

It seriously makes so much sense to me and is basically how I see things.

Learning isn't just about facts. Facts are only used in school, where you learn something, and then regurgitate it.

Learning is more gained from discussions, theories, arguments, musings and everything of that sort. There are more opinions and theories in this world, than facts. And if we only considered facts as knowledge, then our intelligence would be handicapped.

What I find most disturbing, is how people don't understand this.

This is the reason I don't find people who complete high school, secondary, college/Uni as intelligent. All they're doing is regurgitating what they read. They can memorise, and that's it. Until they can improve and use that information to make their own theories and own studies, they will stay as academically blessed. They won't ever be intelligent if they stick to what they learn in college/uni.

Edit: It ofcourse, depends on the course/subject aswell.

Thats not the right attitude when it comes to make yourself more intelligent, I think.. Just by arguing you can make yourself more intelligent, if that makes sense...

Man I'm busy as hell. Hit me up on MSN or pm me.
